Working to support our library!
Colorado’s largest day of giving is just around the corner on December 6th, 2022. Coloradans are coming together to celebrate the nonprofits that make our communities strong. Did you know that Friends of the Longmont Library can be found on the Colorado Gives donation page? All participating Colorado Gives Day nonprofits earn a percentage of the $1.6 million Colorado Gives Day Incentive Fund, so the more we raise, the more we get! We need your help to keep the effort moving! The best part is you can donate to multiple nonprofits and have all your tax-deductible donations sent to you in one email. Your support and generosity of any kind is appreciated!
Starting now through the 6th, Join other Coloradans by Giving Where You Live:
- Making a one-time donation to our Friends of the Longmont Public Library campaign https://www.coloradogives.org/organization/FriendsoftheLongmontPublicLibrary
Your support can make a tremendous difference in the lives of others and help uplift our community.
The kids are back to school! The leaves are turning, and the feeling of autumn is a welcomed relief from the heat. Many of you as well as patrons of the Longmont Library saw or heard of the vandalism at the library. This is indeed distressing to all of us. The city is responsible for repairs. Let’s hope the city steps up and performs the repairs quickly and efficiently.
The Board approved funds for the popular seed library and for the Discovery Passes for next year. The Discovery Passes are a great way to introduce families to the many cultural and fun museums in the Denver area.
Maria Karagianis, one of the Board members will be setting up a table in the library that will introduce patrons who do not know about the Friends. Maria will be recruiting volunteers to staff the tables.
The Longmont Community Foundation Executive Director Eric Hozempa met with the Board to review the FOLL funds held and how the funds can be used. Eric also would partner with the Friends on fundraising events.
The Longmont Community Foundation is 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation with a Platinum rating for transparency on GuideStar (the world’s largest source of nonprofit information). The Board was impressed at the diversity of the Longmont Community Foundation Board of Directors. A true reflection of our communities.
